How do I install my sign?

Your sign arrives ready to mount and light—we include all required hardware and electrical components, plus a full-size installation template to mark hole locations and letter layout.

What’s included
  • Full-size drilling/layout template (stud locations, wiring pass-throughs, spacing)
  • Mounting studs/anchors and hardware
  • Pre-wired leads and a UL-listed power supply/transformer
  • Wiring diagram and step-by-step installation videos

Adhesive/Sealant (required on site)
  • Bring an adhesive/sealant to set studs and seal wall penetrations (not included).
  • Short-term/serviceable: neutral-cure silicone.
  • Long-term/harsh exposure: exterior-rated, two-part epoxy.
  • Confirm compatibility with your wall surface and follow cure times.

Who should install?
For safety and code compliance, use a licensed electrician, general contractor, or local sign installer for mounting and the final connection to building power.

Do I need a permit?

For marquee letters, a sign permit (and often an electrical permit) is typically required.
Indoor sets are usually permit-exempt—unless they’re hard-wired, oversized, or treated by the city as exterior signage.

Your city’s main requirement is a sign submittal set. We provide permit-ready signage files tailored to your order, including:
  • Scaled drawings/layouts (elevations with letter sizes and placement)
  • Materials & illumination specs (UL-listed LEDs/transformer)
  • Mounting method (stud/floating, raceway, or backer)
  • Basic electrical information and cut sheets (UL documentation)

You (or your installer) submit these with the city’s form and any landlord approval.

Compliance—handled

We design and document to local codes, Master Sign Program rules, and site restrictions (size, projection, brightness, mounting, wind/load where required). If your jurisdiction asks for anything additional, we’ll update the files promptly.
